Food insecurity is a reality that affects many people all over the world. Luckily, in Denver, there is a special restaurant called SAME Café — So All May Eat — that is dedicated to serving everyone who comes through their door the same good-for-your-body-and-soul food, regardless of their ability to pay. Also luckily (for us!) AOR had the opportunity to help support this amazing nonprofit as they continue their mission to “create community through access to healthy food.”
At AOR, our goal is to grow brands, create impact, and champion people. We do so by developing and activating brands that focus on connection, community, communication, and experience. As a donation-based, fair trade exchange restaurant, SAME Café is exactly that. But, like many restaurants, SAME Café was greatly impacted by the pandemic and was looking for a way to raise money and give thanks to the restaurants who helped them thrive during those difficult times.
In order to combat these recent challenges, AOR’s partners, director Melanie McLean Brooks and Director of Photography, Ryan Brooks from Flying Giant Productions, put together a film festival fundraiser, SAME Table. To aid in their endeavour, AOR worked with Flying Giant Productions to create and donate the motion graphic package for the series, including an intro, outro, logo animation, and lower thirds.
During the SAME Table virtual and in-person film premiere on July 15, 2021, viewers had the opportunity to peek behind the swinging doors and into the kitchens of five amazing women and BIPOC Denver chefs. They heard from Paul C. Reilly, Jeff Osaka, Dana Rodriguez, and SAME Café chefs Letisha Steele and Carrie Shores, on the beginnings of their careers, how they’re making a difference in the community, and ultimately, why they cook.
